hit curb at ~10km/h with my tire
Last night i hit a curb on this slippery winter roads, it was not fast but it did make a bang.
I am on a university budget and kind of broke and now this and got work i have to drive to.
Heres some pics, just curious how bad you guys think the damage is.
Ill take it to a shop to at least check it out so i know what parts are needed then maybe ask my mechanic friend to help me out and replace em.
I also had to drive it home which was 10 minute drive and it pulls to the left while making this scraping noise from the snow and the wheel rubbing. (there was no sound after it stayed parked underground but it does make sound when i turn the wheel left and drive it)
the first picture is the point of impact you can see there
and second one is just the space between the wheel and the body is a lot tighter then the other side.

I hit a curb 2 weeks ago with our 2011 a4 quattro. Pulled to the right so we took it to the shop. $3800 damage. If you hear rubbing or drive shaft noise and the space around the tire is off, you have to get it fixed. Maybe not everything but lower control arm and tie rod should be checked. If you leave it, you may wear the driveshaft. Not recommending any type of speed either.

have a mechanic check the control arms on the side you hit, and teh tie-rods on both sides. While he's there, check teh CV-boots (both sides, inner & outer) for rips or tears (preventive maintanence, since he's under there, already and it takes, like 5 minutes to look and feel for rips & tears).
You may need to replace either teh upper or lower control arms, or both. Maybe the tie-rod end(s), too. No way to tell. As for teh wheel, awesome curb-rash, dude! Time to upgrade (you can find a decent SET of wheels for what some would charge for one OEM). Check ebay, maybe. I'd say teh wheel/tire itself is 90%+ sound, since its still holding air (it IS still holding air, right?).
Slow down when the weather turns bad. Quattro does NOT equal invincible, as you have just found out. I know, I know, you weren't going fast, BUT, you WERE going fast enough to lose traction and hit a curb, rite?
