RE: North Vs South Cali - gtg planning phase
ok well i went up to SLO today had a fun time checking things out though it was pretty warm. i went to Smith Lotus which is probably the most orgasmic used car lot i will ever see. the owner who i believe is named Ian has a seriously sweet taste in cars. just this week they are pushing2 S8's and anM5 and in the back they were working on an s4 wagon as well as an s4 both electric blue. In the garage he had a GT40 and couple ferrari's next to a pro cup porsche and two cup elises' this is just what i remember !!!! any way. unfortunately the man i needed to talk to is in Japan for the week so i will be back next week to hopefully talk him in to letting us have some space altough its a little intimidating trying to talk someone in to helping an un sponsered event and moving his lot around but i wont discount anything until i talk to him. I also found an awesome road that goes right through the wine country. For some more fun a drive through See Canyon will be great.

Check it out, It was also kind of sad because it is the same road where my cousin pitched his new mini S over a ledge into an oak tree [&o]went a little too fast...
i will look for hotels in a good location probably next week and should hopefully have a really good idea by then about how things are going to go...

not even half a mile down the street, The dealer is unfortunetlynoton the main street but its just off to the side. it may not get ideal foot trafficbutany one driving by.Within that distance theres a few different places. the ones that are most popular are Firestone grill and a Pizza place which name i cant remember right now.

So the plan is to meet there sometime on March 24th, midday? Food, afternoon drive, then some poker at the hotel that evening? GTG and maybe another run late morning before heading home?
Just trying to get everything worked out so the wife can come along and the kids have a sitter.
Cheers!

How long would it take us to "leisurely" drive to SLO approx?
we can have a meeting point for a caravan..
but roughly - say we meet up at
Venice / Sta Monica area in the morning... how many hours to hit SLO?

Mapquest shows 222 miles from my house and about 3 1/2 hours. I imagine if we gave ourselves 4 hours to get there, that would be fine. What is a good caravan meeting place? I was thinking maybe somewhere off of the 101 so we only have 1 highway to worry about.
