I think this first trip is more of a re-laxed meet & greet...
pics, lunch, leisure (maybe not so leisure) canyon drives..

 

So far i haven't been up there yet, i already know of some roads to drive on but if theres any specific things you want me to do then your gunna have to name them. I can find a really nice place to meet in the middle of downtown, if its on a weekend we'll get plenty of attention. just let me know what all i can do.

 

Ask the exotics dealership if they'd be interested in participating in the g2g. That'd be kinda cool.

 

those of you who plan on sleeping up there should voice your decision, i will talk to a hotel up there and see which one can give the best package deal...

 

Not sure you'll have much luck finding group rates. When I was running the SJSU cycling team, & when CPSLO hosted their cycling race weekend, none of the other competing schools were able to secure a group deal on hotels in the SLO area. Things might have changed now, though. Can't hurt to ask.

Im pretty sure most of the SoCal folks will be staying the night...
I know i am for sure... lets do some prelimenary inquiries for group rates
(what the minimum # of occupants would have to be)
right now I'd "estimate" - 10-15 rooms... being pretty conservative & not counting Norcal.


*we'll be needing a nice place to meet - lots of parking, easy access etc...

*place to eat after pics etc. maybe a large "food court type" to accomodate all of us, or even
a local pizza joint etc...

(even better if maybe these 2 points could somehow be held at same place?)
if not - a nice audi caravan to lunch would be great too.)

Velo - any other local SLO spots you might recommend for us???

 

I'll head up there maybe today and look more specifically and then probably this weekend ill start talking to some of the local buisness's about space and rooms. a caravan for food might be tough as the streets are always congested in downtown but everything is within walking distance. Ill take care of it. By the way. I would like to have a number of cars just as an estimate to any of the buisness's who might ask... what do you guys think would be a safe number?

Remember that we need a good place to play Texas Hold'em all night too! I still have 2-3 cases of beer at home that might make it to the GTG.

I really dont know how may ppl from norcal are still interested in going.. the Northern contigent seemed
much stronger a few months ago...
