North Vs South Cali - gtg planning phase

RE: North Vs South Cali - gtg planning phase
Hey All! I live just 20 minutes from San Luis and know it well, if we do a GTG in San Luis we could easily check out Hearst Castle. I think meeting in Downtown San Luis would be really good, theres a few parking garages and plenty of food. It is a college town after all !!! and almost any road that heads east will take out to somenice foothill roads. If any of you would like to know about the area im your guy.

See, that wasn't so hard to get your own club started! LOL
I'm wondering if enough of us want a hotel room if they couldn't cut us a deal and provide parking lot space for us to meet? Maybe a guest suite as well for late night poker???

nice.. we've got ourselves a local !
nice to have u on the forums Oetty..
hope u dont mind - we'll probably be leaning on u to scout out some
spots (restaurants, parking, lodging) etc...
we still may have a Southern Cali meet in Feb.. so that'd be
great if u could make that trip down & meet us..
for your efforts on helping us w/ the North vs South logistics
I'd gladly spring for ur lunch... (if u dont mind the food court )

If we do meet in SLO & do the day trip up to the Hearst area, we could come back via the 46 to 101. The 46 has some nice scenery, up in the mountains. Or maybe 46 to Old Creek Rd. Looks like Old Creek Rd. has some good twisties. A good place to eat in Cambria is Main St. Grill. It's pretty big, so it'll be able to accommodate a nice-sized group. Oettinger1919, have you ever been to this place? We were there last summer & the food was pretty good.

Thank you Chef i know exactly where your talking velo, there are nice cruise roads out there but if you want to get the steering wheel moving east is the way to go....if you guys wanna let me know some more specifics about how you want things to be for this meet just let me know, i work for CBS's central coast station in production and i am done with work at 1pm every day so i have plenty of time on my hands... so far im hearing food, a meeting place, and lodging. If you want me to try and expand on those things and maybe work some deals i can tell you that the general buisness mindset of SLO is very pro-event like. theres is also an exoctics dealership there and i dont think it could hurt to ask them for some hosting help, ferrari's and Jag's might be a cool back-drop for something like this hehe, just an idea... if any of you guys wanna call me my number is 805-264-7292

Am I the only northern folk on here so far? Relatively new member, so I haven't been to a g2g just yet... I missed the NorCal one they had in Dec. out by Crystal Springs. Anybody else from NorCal here?
