I was down that way not too long ago. Been there quite a few times, actually. There are lots of places out there... best bet is maybe meet @ a parking lot on the CPSLO campus? For those non-Audi folks, there is shopping out by the old Mission in downtown. Not your average shopping mall though. There's lots of smaller shops... similar to what you would typically find in downtown Los Gatos (for you NorCal folks), or in Westwood/UCLA (for your SoCal folks). All in all, a nice place to visit.

185 miles - Downtown San Jose to SLO
195 miles - UCLA to SLO
Right in the middle!

Keep in mind most of us might be staying the night? We will need a place with lodging. Both, coincidentally, that hearst has.

Anyways, here's my hearst castle promotional pics.

Note the absence of hearst castle pics.

The closest lodging to Hearst is in Cambria. The rooms in Cambria can get pretty pricey, especially in the spring/summer months.

You cannot spend the night @ Hearst Castle. It is a tourist attraction, not a hotel.

keep in mind wherever we meet for the actual "north" meets "south"
needs to have parking & food accomodations as well...
& it doesnt hurt to have nice scenery to go along w/ the Audi's

great ideas so far....
lets keep the ball moving !

Also, we can meet in a town like SLO and have a "drive" event up highway 1 to wherever. The coast is twisty up through that entire area so there is lots of opportunities. I like the idea of a meet and greet in the morning, an afternoon poker run or scenic drive, and a winery cruise or gathering in the evening. Maybe part the evening before and the run the next day, or whatever.

How's that sound?

I missed the GTG down in Irvine, CA this past weekend so I'd definitely hit this one up as my first meet. Keep the ideas coming.
