Hey guys. Just came back from failing my smog test. Emission were fine. Failed me because of a disconnected air pump cause i dont have the stock one in. So i was wondering if i could borrow someones stock air box just for the test. Ill buy you a burrito or something. Its for a 98 2.8 30V. Anyone in or near SD let me know. YOU KNOW YOU WANT A FREE BURRITO!

 

will the one on my 96 A4 Quattro work How do you know if it is 12V or 30V?

 

^I believe 1996-1997 2.8's have the 12V and 1998-2001 have the 30V.

I would so help you out but I got a 1.8T.

 

Same here i got a 1.8T. So they failed you for not being stock but passed you for emissions?

bristow- it looks like it will. couldnt hurt to try? you can tell if its a 12v or 30v from the cover shrouds on the engine. instead of the audi rings there will be a "5v" on em. would u wanna help me out? only for a couple hours at the most. freeeeeee burrrrrrriitooooooooo lol

srlito- i guess they just passed a new law this year that says they have to be able to hook up one of their lines to the air pump in the stock air box. i passed it last time with flying colors and had the cone on their. damn california air laws. im just glad that the new cat i put on a few days ago worked!!
