Yup, pretty much they try and recruit you straight out of high school, seen it happen to too many people... they make you buy a demo set, then get you to sell to you family, friends, neighbors and stuff... Once you run out of contacts, say goodbye to your moolah also... Don't get me wrong, they are a damn good knife, but right now in this damn economy, who wants to spend that much money on knives? I sure as hell don't, i'll go to Bed Bath and Beyond and grab a set of Emeril knives instead. Also, don't forget that since they are such a good knife, lifetime warranty, cheap resharpening and been around for a while, its a good chance that most people already have a set... It happened to my brother, about 70% of his contacts already had a set of knives...
But all in all, good luck.
But all in all, good luck.

Hah, Cutco.....
OMG, I can't believe they wheeled in another victim. Cutco may be good knives for the average housewife. I wouldn't call Cutco a scam, it's a piece of work. If you work your *** off and take advantage of others, You'll be right up there with the managers making the big dough for doing nothing, some make it, some don't, and the ones you don't, calls it a scam, which it kinda is, but the ones who DO make it, wouldn't be complaining, it's all about how hard you work at it.
as for the knives, I wouldn't mind paying $600+ on a set of knives. I work with food and knives all day long, my knives cost $200 EACH!!!!! handmade and imported from Japan. a 2 year wait for professionals, it's not about how long they last, it's about how sharp it is when you pick it up, every single time. if I see a Cutco knife shave my arm hair like my knives, maybe i'll consider giving you 5 mins of your time to try to convince me.
but as for the Job, all I can say is that you gotta do what you gotta do, if it work, then great!!!! if it doesn't, then you've learned a lesson. Best wishes to you
