no Borla does... its on the Exhausts allready built in.

anything not "activated" upon purchase & leaving the premises basically leaves the
system non-functioning. instead of a nice deep tone / growl - it sounds like a ballerina farting...

how do you like the new rubbers Chef?

any of you A3'ers experiencing excess brake dust on your rims? seems like my rims get covered easily with the brake dust?

my mechanic suggest i replace them with new rotors and pads..... and if i do that, i might as well shell out more $ for new turbo, exhaust and rims too......... haa haa......... gotta stop dreaming now.......... gotta save $$ for my big investment for this Fall......or maybe even Summer

Jason........... i think you can live on 1 good lung.......... but i think if you donate blood and semen everyday for the next year..... you'll save a pretty good amount of $....... hee hee

First off, I really do like the new tires. It takes a bit to run the smoothness off and take the car through various situations to get a good feel for the tires. So far, they are extremely quite, hold very tight, and now I only get a very small amount of slippage in 2nd gear at WOT. My drag times have definitely improved over the worn out Pirelli's. LOL I do think these tires are significantly better than the PZero Rosso's and at a fraction of the price. I want to give it more time before I'm totally in love.

Nam, you have a ton of brake dust always because you shear off large amounts of your brakes everytime you drive! LOL Honestly, you may choose to do what is my plan. I'm keeping the stock rotors and replacing all of the lines with stainless steel, upgrading the brake fluid and pads. That should give more stopping power for a reasonable price. I'm saving my real money for the Tien Coilovers, Quaiffe LSD, and Stage III Clutch. Gotta get ready for the big turbo. Although, I might replace the front brakes if I do actually get the big turbo.

Good to hear that you plan on making the GTG. I missed seeing your little mug at the last event. Who else is always biting at the bit to race me?

I get tons of Brake dust as well, especially in the front.I like chef's idea because it does save tons of money and you can see a pretty notciable difference in the braking power. Although, i have seen some kits which include new SS lines upgraded pads and fluid as well as new rotors for only $500. And it wasn't garbage either.the only problem is i look like an a-hole[:-] until i can remember which website i found that kit at...

i asked my mechanic about the brakes and he said that the stock rotors along with the stock pads are the reason of the excess dust, that's why he suggested on replacing the pads, and he said if i go with the pads, it'll wear off faster if i don't replace the rotors also, doesn't have to be slotted rotors, but better aftermarket rotors, but if i go with slotted rotors, i'd rather replace the rims and tires at the same time so i can get bitter rotors.......... but no more mods for me until i get my business up and running, so no mods til the end of the year........

Chef, so for now, i think the only person that you can really have competition with on the road is A3Night......... i'll just chill in the back of the caravan enjoying the show.

i gotta start rounding up the SD boyz for another caravan.

I just picked up the Eurocode mechanical DV. THEY convinced me that it is much much better and worth the scratch. Install this weekend and we'll see.

Nam,

It is a non-electronic replacement for our DV issues. They use a GReddy BOV and modify the base to work as our DV and use the vacuum pressure to operate the mechanical gate. It is a "fool-proof" device the will avoid the rupture of the rubber bladder in our OEM set-up. The guys that have these installed say that it is very smooth and holds beautifully. We'll see how I like it soon. I need to find a better way to tap into the vacuum line since I have a boost gauge too. Hmmm.

Okay, installed. It works very well and doesn't seem to have any non-OEM issues other than a slightly different sound, which is actually slightly more subdued. On another note, I had the AWE boost gauge installed in the recommended spot off the intake prior to the brake boost, which is the same place recommended for the GReddy DV install. The DV install actually uses a much bigger diameter piece of tubing and the brake boost is back to stock feel. Also, I had to tap into the DV line for the boost gauge and that now works much more quickly. The boost gauge used to be a little delayed in response, and now it is almost instantaneous. So, now I have everything working much better and a DV that won't fail. That makes me.... I only ran a mile or two up the road and back,but I'm sure that the boost is holding much better.
