AUDI 80 Quattro Turbo Rally Car

1990 Audi Quattro is offered for sale. The car is well developed, reliable and competitive. It has performed very well in both national and regional events – and Rallysprints/rallycrosses too. As one of many Audi rally cars in my collection, this car has not seen action since it was completely serviced, refreshed and up-graded several years ago. The car comes with a “grandfathered” Log-Book with the older roll-cage rules. It is powered by a 10v-Intercooled turbo motor. Transmission is from a 4000 quattro with the lockable and stronger differentials. Suspension and brakes have been up-graded and are 100% fresh with zero miles. Springs are NEW, rally spec progressive from GKR and shocks are NEW adjustable Konis – inserted in larger diameter strut housings from an Audi 200. Clutch assembly (lighter and larger diameter) is also from Audi 200 20v. Fuel distribution is CIS from Ur Quattro and so is the all aluminum intercooler. Other features are as following;

* 15” Compomotive wheels with used but healthy gravel tires & 15” Speedlines wheels with winter tires.
* Terratrip 303 navigational computer
* Terraphone Intercom
* Hella map light
* Sparco seats,
* SABELT 6-point harnesses
* MOMO steering wheel,
* Auxiliary gauges, main fuse panel, fan/wiper/fuel pump over-ride switches on center console,
* First-Aid kit, Spill kit, Safety Triangles, 2 fire extinguishers, Co-driver’s foot rest,
* NEW high-flow catalytic converter,
*** This car is mechanically sound and tight. It starts, idles and revs as it should. There are absolutely ZERO leaks of any kind! Turbo is healthy. Timing belt, tensioners, water pump, thermostat, crank oil seals, valve cover gasket and injector seals have all been replaced are NEW! Shifting is great – with no synchromesh issues. All electrics - charging, power windows, instrumentation, wipers, lights, horn, heater fan, etc. work normally. All bearings and axles on vehicle are solid and quiet. Suspension bushings and steering joints are tight and nearly new.
The car will need however, only very few items to be ready to race. New seat belts, roll-cage padding and a wheel alignment are all that I see as being needed. The car has not been driven or tested since all the services were done a few years ago...and still has SCCA door stickers on its sides.
Cosmetics are very good – as the pictures tell. The car has always been kept indoors. There is no rust anywhere, body panels are all straight and the paint still has a good shine.
This car has had a lot of time and money invested in it. I am offering the car for a fraction of what has been invested. It will not scare any Subies and Mitsus out there, but it is decently fast and far less expensive to maintain. It is a great car for beginners or those who want to drive a classic rally car. Its sound is legendary and always gets spectators’ attention. Its greatest strength is its predictable traction and stability in all weather conditions. Great car to enter the sport of rally with… and great value! $8,500 takes it!
