Teach me to launc/ 350z vs s4
Hey so I'm new to the forum and just got a 2005 audi S4 saturday. This is my first car with a manual, I've known how to drive a manual for a long time but have never done any kind of racing in a manual. So can anybody give me some help/advice/pointers/instructions for how to get the best launch out of my S4?
On a related note, my cousin has a 2003 350z with intake, exhaust, headers and some big heavy 20" chrome wheels and has been itching to race since when I started looking for an S4. Assuming I learn how to launch well, how do you think this race would turn out? The only frame of reference I have is that car and driver claims stock for stock an s4 is about half a second quicker in the 1/4 but I dunno how much effect his mods will have on the race(especially with those heavy wheels dragging him down) So who would you pick to win?(I'm stock except for some 18" oz racing wheels with 235/40 kuhmo sport tires which are about 5lbs less each than stock rims)
Thanks for the help
Kaiser

The best way to launch an AWD car is rev the engine to 3000 rpms hold the clutch at the point right before the point where the car wants to move and hold it their. then when it is time to go, go WOT (wide open throttle) once the gas is 100% let the clutch go, this all happens in a split second, it should feel almos like one motion. no need to slip the clutch and if you want to keep your stock clutch in decent shape dont slip it.
