The first EVO to be imported was the 8 in 2003, if it was a 4, then it's really old, and you might have a better chance to beating it.

I'm not surprised. A modded MT S4 would have trouble keeping close. I had a Brilliant Red 2005.5 B7 S4 and traded it for an A3 and an EVO IX. The Evo stock smoked my S4. People always say that the S4 will win once you get to 100 mph, but honestly , the race is already over long before then.It is true that Evos do not stay stock long. The list of aftermarket mods is limitless, and cheap!! Don't get trapped racing one of these on the streets for money, I know of at least 3 locally that put down 500whp on mustang dynos.

That's the big difference. That stage 3 costs $7249.00. If you put that kind of money into an Evo, you are easy over 500whp.

who is the APR for the evos? APR is not cheap... you can customize your own stage 3 for half the apr price.

Something you have to realize is that the Evo was designed for one thing, racing. The interior is cheap plastic, very little on the body says quality, everything has been done to decrease weight etc. I test drove one a while back and although it was fun, I could not bring myself to buy one as a daily driver. The thing would have been murder on my butt and back. The suspension felt like, well, felt absent. lol It was stiff as a board. My wife complained the whole time too, but that was to be expected, it was no different than any other day. She also complained the whole time that it looked like a punk kid's car and I am a grown man and should be looking at a real man's car. lol

Oh well, it was fun while it lasted. If I wanted a weekend driver, maybe if I was serious about road track racing, maybe then. You can get a stripped down MR for pocket cash. It has no air conditioning, stereo, wing, power door locks or windows etc and is literally a race car.
