Default Fun with a Civic SI on Portland Freeways (kinda long)

kind of a fun story. Was in kind of a hurry getting on the freeway in north portland going home in south portland (oregon). The freeways are alot like any other city. I5 splits into I5 and 405, I5 goes around the city center on the eastside, 405 around on the westside, and they merge on both sides becomeing I5 again.

So before the freeway I noticed a newer civic SI maybe 2007, and a new Mustang revving side by side up ahead at a light. No to be left out I zipped up there in my A4. Keep in mind my 05.5 B7 has AWE exhaust, Forge DV, Evo Intake, and RS4 sway. I am not chipped, at least not for a few more months till my warranty is Ka put.

I follow the Si and mustang for a few blocks, they are having fun but not going crazy fast or anything. The mustang turns off, I go past the si at a light and then we both get on the freeway. There is about 5 miles before the the freeway splits, during which we are having fun passing each other and working our way through light to moderate traffic. Maybe going 90 or 95 at the fastest. The Civic appears to have exhaust and maybe aintake from the sound. I think its pretty clear that we are pretty close with a little bit of advantage to me. I seem to be able to pull away.

Anyways the funny part is, the split in the freeway comes and it is apparent we arent going the same way. we give each other a nod and split up he taking I5 south me taking 405 south. they Merge backabout 7 or 8 miles away. I drive around the city, the freeways merge and about 20 secs later I hear this honk as the civic speeds by. I respond but mashing the gas pedal and off we go.

no hardcore racing, no out of control speeds, just a fun time on the freeway with another like minded sports sedan owner. I kinda like that Si but I like my A4 better. I was clearly the faster one but not by much, hopefully i will see him again after I chip my baby.

cheers.
