b6-S4 vs. Porsche GT2 (pics. included)
It was about 8am sunday, here on the socal freeways.... i was comming up on my freeway change and spotted two porsches tagging along together, heading the same way i was(wich was actuallyto see an exotic car meet).... one looked like an older 911 and the one leading looked like a 2003 turbo(420hp).... knowing i'd get smoked by the turbo on the straight away i thought i could at least suprise the hell out of him through this beautiful 100+ mph interchange we had in a mile or less...
In setting up forthis 3rd and 4th gearturn a minivan(of course) is completely blocking one of two lanes and seems to be taking his sunday drive... completely screwing up my opportunity to push this V8 to the redline in 4th through the turn..... sobyabout the end of the ramp, it is clear to get around the damn mini van and creep up to the trailing 911....theguyturns to me and took off just a little, seemingly wanting to still have a little fun...
Our newfreeway was clear so i floored it to blow past the turbo and see if i could spark his fire.... aftersmashingpast him, letting him hear the deep milltek exhaust i could tell through my rear view mirror he wasabout 6-7 car lengths behind and just stepped on it to catch me.... so comming out of 4th gear at about 115-120 i stick it in 5th and keepher breathingdown this 6-7 lane open freeway(405N).... i continue to keep an eyeon the rear veiw mirror to watch the porsche desipate my lead, only to find we were staying abouteven, only he was back 5-6 car lengths...
140mph comes up fast and i let offforthe drivers topass..... then to my suprise it wasn't even a turbo! it was a damn GT2!.... that car would really kick my ***... it's a twin turbo flat sixwitharpx. 450+HP and same with the torque! so i don't really know what was up with the race... he must have just been babying it or doesn't feel comfortable pushing his car to whatit'scapable of.... i believe that car can do nearly 200mph! wow... sure was exiting though... plus i got a quick chance to snap a few... good thing i had my camera in the cab... sure kills when it's in the trunk....

I am certainly not an expert on Porsche's, so I may be way way off on this statement........but, I don't think this is a real GT2. The reason I say that is I have never seen a GT2 without side vents (between the door and rear wheel), and the ground effects seem different. It looks like a regular 911 with a Gt2esque body kit, wing and badging.....but again, I could be way off with this statement.

very good call. what's funny is i thought it could be a fake too, i mean i would have gotten eaten alive if it was 450lbs of torque! so what do you think it is? just a 911? how fast are they? not faster than the s4, hehe.

Well, if it's just a 911 Carrera (sounds funny.....just a 911), and let's say it's around a 2003......I believe that engine is a 3.6L, normally aspirated, that puts out 315hp and 273 ft-lbs of torque......certainly no match for your 340 ponies.............good kill!!!!
I never understood people making their cars look like a faster car when they can't back it up.........

Thye easiest way to tell that isn't a real GT2 is by the lack of side vents, the rocker panels are different, and it doesn't have the GT2 brakes.
But on a side note, although he didn't stand a chance of catching youafter being so far behind; even a 'regular' 911 would walk you in a highway roll, had it been a fair race.

Uhm, yeah........ even the base 911 Carrera's had 320 hp, at least 400lbs less than you, better gearing, and much better aerodynamics. Your small hp advantage is not enough to overcome your disadvantages. I'm not trying to diss your car or anything man, I'm just saying. 911's are quick cars, espec on the highway.
