i'm getting (as estimated from apr) 206hp and 245ft/lb torque to the crank just as a heads up

So i was just leaving work oddly later than usually, a little past midnight. Suprisingly enough, a friend of mine pulled up next to me (he was just cruising after a party). He has a bright blue conertible (more weight) automatic (slow responce) 350z, completely stock. We did 3 rolls from 40 mph, the first 2 we went up to 70-85 mph, and believe it or not, i won. The third time, we went up to 90mph, which is the exact speed that he pulled ahead of me. I was pretty proud of that since he has 81hp on me.

 

Not sure an auto is slower, but definately heavier...

 

i know a auto is slower over a stick.weight is not even the issue a auto is like 70 lbs heavier then a stick that not a lot of weight.but all and all good kill

 

well, it being a convertible and an auto, he might be 200lbs heavier than a coupe, but 350zs are pretty quick. I remember when I raced one(coupe, manual) when I was only making 210whp with 2 ppl in the car and we were very close.......did you say your a4 was a quattro? If not then that would make sense.

 

I don't have any doubt at all that you would beat him... a stock 350z auto convert is considerably slower than a 6-speed coupe. Good kill!

I know this because a friend of mine had an auto convert then switched to a 6-speed coupe. I used to pull him by about 3 1/2 cars in my old modded Tiburon, then when he got his new Z I would barely pull him at all...

my uncle has a 350z with a 6-speed and my cousin has a WRX STI, I raced both of them and got my *** handed to me. But the two of them were sticking close to eachother. 350z's really arent that fast unless modded though, I would know, I've driven it :P

 

yeah they are pretty fast

 

auto z is a lot slower then 6sp z
