Default Cherokee Audi Club Driver's School: Road Atlanta, April 21 & 22nd

With last year's success of our first driver's school at Road Atlanta the Cherokee Audi Club will return to our home track on April 21 & 22.

Over the past winter, the entire length of this challenging 2.54 mile course has been resurfaced!

The Audi R8 and R10 Race cars have dominated Petit Le Mans on this fast and challenging track and this is a great chance to see the track from the same point of view - behind the wheel

Featuring 12 turns, dramatic elevation changes and high cornering speeds, the technical nature of Road Atlanta provides an exhilarating and challenging experience for beginning students and seasoned veterans alike. Plus, for 2007 we'll have some spectators watching from the infield as a locally based, nationally known VW club will be holding a car show on Saturday........

DurtyDubs, as they're known, is a highly organized group of VW enthusiasts who are just as interested in what's happening on-track as they are about who wins best of show. You won't find wings, spinners or other associated "bling" with this crowd - just some very nice VW's - many of them being the A1 and A2 models we grew up on, maintained and updated to look their best.

For the Cherokee Audi Club, this is a great chance to expose more people in the VAG family to what we do and hopefully hook some of them into getting on track with us in the future.

REGISTRATION:

To streamline the process, registration for the event will be done through MotorsportsReg.com (MSR) which is a secure, easy to use, online registration and payment processing system that many clubs are moving too. Registrants sign up for events by creating their own accounts within the program. There is no charge to create an account at MSR and it provides an excellent tool to keep track of your Driving School experience.

To get started, visit our Web site
www.CherokeeAudiClub.com where you'll find pricing and hotel info as well as a link to the event page at MotorsportsReg.com. If you already have an account in MSR - simply register. Otherwise - click on "I'm a new user" and create your account. Once done, you'll be set to register for our event and signing up for future events will be a breeze!

NOTE: Due to insurance reasons, all participants (students and instructors) must hold a valid Audi Club North America membership! If you are not currently a member, you can sign up by adding 1 year membership dues ($44) during your registration process. Once a member, you will be elligible to participate in all ACNA Driver's Schools, including our Driver's School at Barber Motorsports Park Nov, 3rd & 4th. To see all the benefits of ACNA membership, visit www.AudiClubNA.org.

Cherokee Audi Club is particularly interested in getting new faces to our events... We foster a relaxed learning environment and encourage studentsto progress at your own pace. In-car instruction is the standard for all beginners and you'll share the track with drivers of similiar experience. If you want to know what to expect, read our Driver's School Overview on our Web site for more information.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

If you'd like to help a grassroots event be even more successful, contact me and become a volunteer. We already have Road Atlanta corner workers, but we need folks to help w/ registration, tech, pit out and pit in, paddock, grid, setup, and teardown. Everything that happens is usually because a volunteer made it so. So if you'd like to see this from inside the fence, drop me note (profile e-mail). We'll get oriented and working straightaway.

And just maybe, some driver will offer you a fast spin on Road Atlanta gratis! It's one of the perqs!
