RE: Young Driver tragedy...
Such a teribble event. And so young. Sadly, this is often the price paid to get an adrenaline rush.[&o]
On a side note, as bad as it is, kudos to them for at least being 'responsible' enough to go to a runway, and not do it on public roads. At least they didn't ake out any innocent motorists w/ them....

I don't see any real stupidity. Just a buncha guys who rolled the dice in the most responsible manner they could and came up snake eyes. Don't know how he lost control at 140 on a 7500' long runway in a straight line, but he did. As SCG87 stated,no one else was endangered by this and the only lives lost were their own.

Man, that's just horrible...
The problem with driving a car down a runway is you don't see the end of it till you're at the end, they probably had the car near topped out then tried to stop but it was too late and that's when they lost control.

this is why i fully believe that certain vehicles should require an upgraded license to operate. regardless of age, if you can afford a vehicle that powerful, then you can afford a in depth driving training to operate it.
besides, the most responsible manner operating ANY vehicle at 140mph doesn't have 4 of your friends in the vehicle with you at 3am.
