It is all going to depend on where you live and how dark you go. One resource I have found is actually a forum for tinters. I am on it because I want to start tinting window again for some side cash. tintdude.com has a forum for customers to ask questions and there are people who will chime in who may be close to where you live. The trick is to be observant to how many cars in the area are tinted the way you want them and that may give you an idea of how much they enforce the regs. I also suggest that if you get pulled over, at the very minimum you turn on the interior lights so they can see in. take away the risk for them and they are not as likely to harrass you about the windows. Of course, don't do anything that would give them the reason to pull you over for the tint to start asking you other questions thinking you may be a suspect for something.

 

Well I live in Jersey. I see a lot of cars with windows tinted illegally (ANY tint on the front windows is illegal in Jersey)...

I think I'll be ok if i go 20% or 25% all around...

Well I am not sure about the laws regarding tint in the back windows, but it would look good if you went with the 20% in the back and the 35% on the drivers windows. With the lighter tint on the front windows, it is less likely to get the 5.0 attention, and like I said earlier, turn on the interior lights if you get pulled over.

5% all around for the reason its above a 100F for at least 5 months outta the year. Cops never hasseled me about the tint.

I got 18% and think it's PERFECT. You can just barely see through the front windows.
Which.... Kinda sucks I sometimes wish I got 15% however Since I have black leather
it makes it look darker than what it is.
and no, It's no legal %. But I havn't had a single problem from cops. (I do have Firefighter license plates tho, Might help)

You can see the B post on the Pass side in that second pic if you look thru the reflections.

Also, Thats the day I got it. Now that it's set in a bit, It's a bit lighter. (that or I just got use to it being there and think it's lighter)
