hello guys. its my first post. i really need help with this one!:/ i know how a bad turbo sounds but this sound is not like that. familiar but sounds more like a supercharger. i boost leak test but could find a leak right now. only under boost. if i slowly gas it to 15 psi or up to 24 i can barely hear the whine. but! when i press all the way doe i can hear it loud and will disappear as soon i let go of gas. kinda sounds like boost leak but can identify

 

have you checked your diverter valves? you might have blown one.

 

how can you tell if its bad? the car also flutters on high boost maybe sparkplugs. this whine is weird it will go away as soon i decelerate. its on passengers side. ive done so much to identify this issue. so frustrated!

 

Are you on stock diverter valves? how is your idle?

to test:
pull it out.

Push up piston/diaphragm. Hold finger over vacuum nipple. Release.

If the piston/diaphragm stays up, it's fine.

no they are ebay i bought the car like this. i had a leak on the pass wastegate actuator hose so just replace the bottom with a fuel hose wrap with heatshield. will a bad dv cause a supercharger sound tho?

 

when fresh start the car idle is at 1200 but after i drive it is fine.i checked the turbo for play but its good ko4 b&w

 

nice. most non-oem diverter valves are rebuilable.
