Will this A4 beat your S4??
As some of you may remember I recently posted Can i REALLY afford that S4? In my searches I have found a 2001 Audi A4 1.8T 5seed. It has a K04 Turbo, APR chip, and turbo blow off valve and 40,000 miles. Do you think this would be faster than an S4 and by how much 0-60 wise. I guess it's a trade off between looks and handling and raw speed? Also, would this setup be a reliable one?

I dont think it would even be close. How much HP does the a4 have? I still think the S4 but im not the greatest source i dont even have my s4 yet.

an a4 with a k04 upgrade is up there dont be so sure. then again the apr chip isnt made for the k04 upgrade bt thats besides the point, it will work fine just not to its maximum ability.

To the uniformed potential S4 owners....do your homework.... a K04 turbo is the next step up from the turbos the S4 runs. It should be pretty close. Does anyone know what would put it up to it's potential and how much ball park it would cost?

I can't comment on the performence, but doesn't the S4 have advantages besides just the engine? How about the steering, the suspension, the brakes, the handling, the interior (little more posh on some comparisons)? If this stuff doesn't matter to you, then I guess you have other options with the A4 modded. I run a stock S4 with Tip, its more than enough for what I want out of it, plus its a constant head turner. I have the black leather with silver alcantara (fsuade). I can't count how manny compliments I've gotten on those seats. To me the S4 (b7 for me) is about more than the performance, its a full brand experience that I enjoy.
But i respect that others have other motives for their cars. I guess it depends on what floats your boat.

it would without a doubt beat a stock s4 in a race, unless it has more than you say, the s4 has nicer everything except speed. as soon as you do work to the s4 tho, its all over. and im not so sure about matching a k04 with an apr chip. never heard of it being done, you should look into that, might be untruthful.
