Howdy all!

New '04 S4 owner and love the car. Just curious if anyone has any info for me on something.

Was there a recall or service bulleting on a whining noise coming from the engine compartment (belt tensioner, maybe). Usually happens in 5th gear around 47-53mph..nothing above or below that. Probably more associated with engine RPM, but that's when I hear it. Asked the dealer if there was any recalls on that problem and he said no...I don't trust that.

Any help would be appreciated!

sounds more like a speed/wind related problem.......go drive it windows down through the gears, then windows up through the gears and see if you get it through all gears, if so, take it in (if under warranty), if not, take it in (if under warranty), heh.
