There doesnt seem to be much information about the UrS4 here in these forums, I'm looking for people who would be able to tell me if this car:

http://seattle.craigslist.org/est/car/579656923.html

Was a good one?

I've been waiting for one of these early model S4's to pop up for a long time, and finally one did.

if he's wiling to fix all the junk wrong with it for $6500....i'd say go for it...especially with the low miles it has. i paid 5500 for mine though and i have the smooth s6 bumpers, clear corners, debadged trunk, bilstein shocks with h&r springs, d2 camber plates, 17" msw's with michelin pilot sports wrapped on em, rs2 turbo, rs2 cams, 1.8t coilpacks, samco intercooler piping, chip, i'm pushing about 1.7bar of boost and the car hauls ***...dont even have an aftermarket exhaust or intake or even dumpvalve and it hauls ***. i was used to driving a 86 golf gt with a turbo setup i built....and i was honestly hesitant about smashing down on the pedal of the s4. if you pick that oneup...your lucky to have such low miles. great cars......lot and lots of cool gadgets in them too like the cell phone and the heated front and rear seats, auto climate control, the inflatable ski bag inside, the built in boost gauge in the dash....hell...its a badass car.....and sound like jets when you get some work done on them....right now i can accelerate on par and eventually pass a c5 zo6 corvette and have no problem keeping up with highly modified cars...i pull close to 400bhp and almost equal amount of torque....and the best part about it is.....i'm awd....if you have a good clutch and some nice tires....you can launch that thing so hard it hurts...any questions feel free to ask...i'm usually on audizine though (Vader)

I think I just hit the information goldmine... thanks deathsled!!!

I sent an email inquiring about the car - got this reply

I actually am selling this car for a friend. She is the 2nd owner of the car. The car is completley stock no mods at all. I'll ask her about the service records. She did tell me that it had always been taken to University Audi's service dept for all repairs. The car has no rattles or noises at all it has been owwned by 2 girls who took great care of it so it doesn't have a lot of the problems you typically see in a car that has been ripped on for the last 15 years. Let me know if you have any other questions and i'll get back to you about the service records. Thanks for you interest! -Chris
Although I was hoping for some RS2 upgrades completly stock isnt a bad selling point either.

Also, DeathSled,

How much would all of those upgrades run me?

yea....the rs2 manifold that i have on my car goes for about $1200 now.....and the rs2 turbo is about 1700 new...and getting the rs2 cams and chip stuff must have been hard too...good thing the car was owned by an old guy for the past 11years...he drives really slow....and he races his porsches in seattle...which is where i bought it. the only problem ive had with mine is replacing an old water hose. i have over 200,000 miles on my car (64,000 on rebuild). there are a few things to look for when you look at the car though.....check for fading clearcoat, brakes, any leaks coming out of the power steering pump, any ticking in the head, any noise coming from the turbo besides its crazy sound, the mounts on the steering rack, the lights on the dash and the autoclimate likes to have a mind of its own, ask if all the heated seats work, any whining at all in the tranny is not good. otherwise they built these cars to last forever...literally...i dont plan on mine going anywhere for the next 40 years..thats how much i like it....that and i'm saving up for a 2.6liter stroker kit and standalone fuel managment. there are a bunch of places that sell badass parts for them though...check out dahlback....google search it and make sure its the english one. they only use the infamous 5cylinder 20v turbo engine....and they sell kits for 500+bhp......which is easy to get out of these engines.

the best thing about these cars...is the functionality...it can be a family car, and a weekend racer and the ultimate sleeper..

i suggest you buy it, then i might have to come up to seattle and check it out and have you check mine out, my parents live up on bainbridge island anyway

Just wanted to say look at 034 motorsports they have some bad *** things for the inline 5 owning a S6 avant also with the I5 its always hard to find things for them and they seem to have the most of everything you would want. Also look at there sleepper 80 almost 1000hp. If you do buy it let me know I live in MT but all my fam. is in WA.

Also have it looked at make sure the timing has been done. Also look at the power stering make sure its not leaking at all its a spendy one 1500-1800 plus labor. Make sure the heated seats work front and back and all the servos for defrost, center and feet work. I would also look at the brake line see if they are new if not replace them that was the first thing to go one mine, the servece department said they always do blow around that year at this time.
