what are these buttons?

left is your front fog lights, the right is your rear fog light.

your rear fog light will light up your rear drivers side lights... i think its a seperate bulb than the night time lights or the brake lights? either way just the one side lights up as far as I know. you'll probably rarely need to use this.

 

one on the left is front fogs, one on the right is rear fog / warning light

Oh, I thought that I had a bulb out on the rear right side, because the light wasn't on. Whats the point of having only one extra light on?

That way it is specifically visible as a fog light instead of someone thinking you have the brakes on. It's for the really thick stuff.

American's are not yet used to seeing rear-fog lights, let alone TWO of them. They are semi-ubiquitous in Europe and many other parts of teh planet. Americans ONLY rate a single, left-side because 99.999999999999999999999999999999999999999999% of you (ok, US, happy?) lack the capacity to make enough of an intuitive leap to understand that, when driving in severe fog, TWO bright-red lights means there is a CAR up ahead. Similiarly, owners/drivers on American roads do not pay enough attention to WTF their car is doing/displaying (even though a bright light on the dash/display-panel tells us) to notice that we have our rear-fogs on, in BROAD DAYLIGHT (especially with those few marques that tie the rear to the front fogs, since, theoretically, if its foggy enough for teh fronts... As opposed to using them as a "style" accessory, by driving around with them on when they are clearly not needed).

So, dumb-a$$'d Americans are why you only get one rear-fog-light.

That, and, sure as you are reading these words, some whacked-out, high-as-a-weather-balloon trust-fund-baby who's daddy own a law-firm will see a pair, slam on their brakes and cause a 1,000,000-car pile-up, and sue the manufacturer of the car; the driver of every type of car that has such functionality; the state teh road is in; the county teh road is in; the city the road is in;the company that paved teh road; the guy that drove teh truck that hauled in teh asphalt, the guys that held the "STOP/YIELD" alternating signs, and anybody else they can possibly think of that may even remotely be associated with life on teh planet, and GOD, for making teh fog in teh first place... <<deep breath>>

Next time you see some goofball driving around with his fog lights on, in broad daylight, drag him/her from their car and PUNCH THEM IN DA THROAT, willya?

 

its an offence to have the fogs on if its not foggy ( front or rear ) in the UK and it carries a fine, twin rear fogs is a Euro thing because of excess travel in the EU
