Default what to do? slashed tires

so some punk *** kids slashed the tires on the passenger side of my car. i just got the tires recently and they are not warn much. i was thinking about replacing the two on just the passenger side of the car but i am having a lot of second thoughts. if i replace the two on the passenger side there is a chance that the awd could be messed up if the tread was more warn on the drivers side. is this correct? is there anyway around this. i just bought four new tires and i dont really want to have to buy four new tires again.

You can replace two tires, the only time you might have a problem is using a different size wheel/tire that would spin at a different rate than the other 3. Like if you had 4 custom wheels on it and then threw on your fatty spare it could cause a condition known as drive shaft wind up, which is bad.....
Just replace the two tires and you'll be fine.

If it were my case, I would goto the shop I purchased them from, they would "buy back" the good tire(s) depending on wear, maybe even credit a portion of the slashed. This is the policy @ Les Shwab.

sell the tires to a used tire shop, when i had my 3000gt it came with pirelli p6 and i replaced them even though they had ok-ish tread left with some dunlops and they gave me 40sum each, gotta admit i did beat on the tires a bit so i feel like a got somewhat a decent deal, google in your area for used tire shops

well i too recently had my tires slashed. 3 kids from my old high school got high on CCC and slashed about 38 cars. so before they were caught i filed a police report and got my insurance to pay it. if you file a report the insurance should pay with you only covering the deductible. i got my deductible back though after they caught the kids and threw one of them in jail for 3 years.
