Default Weird Noise from rear

Ok I just bought a 2000 S4 6 speed w/74,000mi last night. In Ohio and I could hear a noise comming from the back end. While I was driving back to NY. it sounds like mud tires on a truck but not as loud. And if I make right handed sweeping turns ( you know like on the highway ) it goes away. it doesn't seem to effect the transmission. And the power gets to the ground. I was thinking either a wheel bearing or worst case the rear diff. What do u guys think? I'm new to this fourm. I was a turbo honda man before this. So I do have a little car sence. I have a appointment next Monday for the Audi dealer. But if I can get it done at a local shop or do it my self then that would be great. I do know how to use tools.

Thats might be the dif.

I bought my car recently form PA

Rear noise aswell. Tech guys told me that its a dif,
can you tell more where it comes from?
cause if its in the middle.... you will come up with the new dif, if its on the side, then you lucky, bearing is not a $$$ spend repair

Any way you can change both yourself.

Also look at your rear brakes and rotors, if they are worn, most likely previous owner used handbrake alot, that might cause dif failuer.

used dif with warranty $400 + installation

new bearings $20 + installation

both is easy to do job.

Let us know. We will help

It is actually the rear bearings. I got the pass rear changed friday. But they didn't have the part for the drives side. So I have to go back this friday.
