Water or Aux. Pump '07 S4

Hey 2007 S4, around 40 k on it. Got a bearing noise just starting. Anyone got advice on how to tell which pump it is? Anyone have similar symptoms? No leaks, just annoying when it doesn't purr?? Any help appreciated!
