Can someone show me what cable I need to buy and what version to download? I found a ton of cables on ebay but I'm not sure which one I need and which software to d/l from the ross-tech site. Thanks.

 

Why not just pony up for the real thing?
It's well worth the money.

 

because i don't care to log stuff at this time. Just want to be able to view trouble codes if I ever get one, and recode the trans. That's it. Not worth $350 to me to be able to do those two things. As a diagnostic and datalogging tool it's a good deal, but I just want to read codes for the most part and I could go buy an OBD II code reader for less.

 

an obd II scanner wont beable to do near as many things the vag can do.

 

ok so what besides, read/clear codes, recode the trans, and door locks/windows, can it do that makes it worth a few hundred bucks?
