Anyone who buys a B6/B7 S4 with the availability of a SC as a requisite to enjoying the car has missed the boat altogether. It's not the fastest car out there, but with some minor suspension mods it's a blast to drive and it has very good power right out of the box.

I am looking forward to my exhaust and ECU upgrades. I did the ECU on my first B6 S4 Tip and it woke the car up like crazy. Throttle response and top end responded very nicely to the tuning. I can't wait to do it to my 6MT car. I can say that I'll be content with 380 crank hp once the ECU and exhaust are done.

To have to spend thousands more for the 40 extra hp the RS4 offers is a non-sequitor. And as brutal as a Stage III B5 is, it's still not the car I like to look at, and I don't care for the interiors of the B5 cars at all.

 

What chip did you use? I put in a Revo and can't really see a difference when switching it between stock and "performance." BTW, I agree that the B7 is awesome right out of the box, but at times I feel like I'm dragging around an anchor because the thing is so heavy. Admittedly, I ride a crotch-rocket so my need for speed is a little harder to satisfy. If I can get an SC at a reasonable cost, I will definitely consider it.

 

hey Beffy, what ECU chip are you getting? how do you know which one to get? APR?GIAC?

also, what exhuast are you getting and have you done the intake at all?
