Unhappy Ut oh! WTF is going on here?! Electrical Problem? HELP!

Well my stock car battery died, and I went and bought an optima yellow top. I start up my car w/o any problems... I noticed that my ABS lite is constantly lit, and my brake light is flashing. More over my god damn radio no longer turns on! I have no idea what's going on, thank god my vagcom just came in last week, I'm going to plug it in... but can anyone fill me in on wtf is going on here? I'm praying it isn't an electrical problem... Maybe a fuse or something? I don't know. All I know is my car was fine before the battery died...

HELP!!!

Panic is starting to take hold of me...

when you replaced your battery, you essentially rebooted the computer system. you radio wont turn on because you changed the battery. you need the lock (or unlocking) codes from the dealership to get your radio going.

I looked up what you said, and here's the thing: I read that the radio will say "SAFE"; mine doesn't power on... Nothing comes up on the radio; no backlight, no nothing. It is not locked, it's not turning on at all, 100% unresponsive.

Can you or anyone think of anything else to help me?

Okay, it appears that 3/4's of my problem was in the fuses. Evidently the battery surged the electrical system and blew out some fuses. Once I replaced them, my ABS and Brake lights went out... Thank GOD! Thing is I did notice that the fuse for the radio was blown, after I replaced the radio fuse it still will not power on. Does anyone know if there is a fuse inside the radio unit itself and not just on the side in the fuse box?

ah a fuse problem...i had a feeling. anyways, im not familiar with audi stock audio, but from my expeirence with other manufacturers, older head units have a secondary fuse tucked away behind the dash.

No problem! You fixed the hard part...fuses. Now your radio is in SAFE mode from the change over in batteries. You should have gotten the code when you purchased the car but if you didnt then unfortunately you have to go to a dealer to get the code...just remember to write it down for the future.

I haven't had a chance to check out the radio unit yet, but I did do some searching online. According to popular speculation, there is no other fuse for the radio other than the one in the fuse box on the driver's side... My car's radio will not power on yet... If it said "SAFE" then I would let out a sigh of relief as I would know the damn thing would work after I unlocked it, but no such luck; just no power. MEH!
