Question Unusual noise at slow speeds under load...

Hi All,

I just got a 2007 S4 Automatic and during the test drive (actually in the parking lot) as I was making somewhat of a tight turn (but the wheels are not turned all the way) with some throttle I heard some what of an unusual sound, as if the tires were rubbing against something.

when I asked the sales rep. he said that, that was normal with quattro. Since I never drove a Quattro audi before I took his word however I just want to make sure this is something normal.

I know I wasn't very clear on the definition but if it is something usual I am hoping you guys will know what I mean...

Being a quattro makes no special difference to the function the the steering. The salesman is ignorant. You should visually inspect the wheel wells for wear or rubbing. You may have a clearance issue, a bad wheel bearing or a bad cv joint ( this is part of the drivetrain for the front wheels). Look at the cv boot for cuts or cracks. If so, the cv may be damaged from contamination. A line up shop or tire shop could examine it as well. Good luck

Could the differential be making a noise when turning at a low speed?
