gt30's would take a very long time to spool on a stock displacement motor.
Most kits right now use GT2554, GT2560, and GT28s
If you are serious about building a GT car, generationJDM on audizine sells BEAUTIFUL GT kits with manifolds and downpipes, tial 44mm wastegates, all the hardware, inlet pipes, and oil/coolant lines. I believe thats just shy of $8000. On top of that you need a pretty serious fuel set up, big pump, rail, injectors, and a custom tune. On 2554's you could use a stock displacment motor with forged connecting rods, and minimal head work, but on the larger ones it would be beneficial to bore the motor to 3.0L and do more top end work to take advantage of the higher powerband. Frontmount IC or ER sidemounts, new motor, tranny, and diff mounts. Really the list goes on.
I would estimate a minimum of $20,000 for a conservative setup. You could spend much much much more
