Thinking of getting an S4

Thinking of getting an S4
I currently have a 99.5 2.8 quattro manual and I work at a private dealer (non dealership?). I am thinking of selling my A4 for a little above 5k and buying an S4 at an auction for not too much more then that. I have actually found a 01 S4 with 160k miles for 3k minimum bid (no reserves for this type of online auction) and 5k buy it now. I dont think I want to get into something that high mile but its not impossible to find them for 6500 with less then 100k miles and thats what I think I want to look into doing but I want to know what I am doing first. I do all work on the car myself no matter what it is but parts add up no matter what so what are the big things to look at when I am looking at one? Is it something worth doing just for some horse power? Opinions?
This is the 160k one car fax is clean and shows a lot of work has been done at the dealer but doesn't really say what. If I sold mine for 5500 (maybe high) and got that one for the minimum bid of 3k and used the 1k I have saved plus the 2500 profit to fix it would this be a car worth looking into even at the miles? If someone wants to buy it though I can work a deal out for you lol. So far I just don't know if its a manual or tip.

160k isn't bad for a 2.7 w/ timing belt changes. The turbos would be worry for me though, but maybe they've been replaced. It'd be nice to get dealer service records. If someone works for a dealer maybe they can run that vin for you.
For $3000 - $5000, I'd buy it anyways, it's cheap.

2 things...
#1.) from the pictures the S-line badge on the grill isnt even on properly.
#2 (most important)- DO NOT BUT FROM IMPORTS AUTO SALES!!! I bought an a4 from them and they are a huge ripoff... your better off going to a junkyard and buying a salvaged s4 and rebuilding it yourself. Beleive me Bob katib (Imports auto sales, Located in west patterson, nj) is an *******... I know from first hand experience as i bought my 99 a4 2.8 from him.

Well I myself work for a local car dealer. I know the car is cheap for a reason and didn't really want one with that high miles if I ever did get one for myself. Im gonna save a bit now and eventually sell mine so I can get one with around 60k miles. I was curious on people's idea about that one and most agree its a bad idea lol.

yeah dont get it. Its just gonna be a money pit... (Turbos, Timing Belt... Etc...)
Also the average lifespan for the s4 which im sure most people agree with are probably a little over 200000 its time to junk the car. Your better selling the a4 saving up some money and picking up one with like 50-70k miles. I got mine with 70k for 13,070 including tax, tags, and title.
