supercharger?

supercharger?
Hello all. I am normally on the TT forums, because I have a TT, but this thread is for my brother in law. He has a 07 S4 with full suspension, short shift, and a miltek exhaust. He is wanting to add a supercharger to his car, but wants me to do it because he is hardly at home, being a pro sportsman.
I was hoping you all could steer me in the right direction--> system, shop, warnings to this install... whatever information you could supply would be great.
Thanks so much!

RE: supercharger?
well I don't know much about superchargers but I know unless he's. In for a lot of money I think like 20k its difficult and will polly be hard to find a place to do the work. Good luck I have seen one supercharged 05 and it was badass.

RE: supercharger?
Where do you live? I've heard of one for around $12K and know a shop that will install it. It's about 20 hours of labor.
I just put in a request to my shop to find out more about it. I'll let you know when I hear back...

The MTM supercharger is the most well known and "popular". It costs around $20,000 USD.

There's another one. More affordable than the MTM.
APR was supposedly working on a supercharger at some point, but I don't know if they abandoned it, or if it's still in the works. It was reported to be alot cheaper than any of the superchargers out now for the 4.2, but I don't know the status on it.
I would highly recommend you go to a very knowledgeable Audi shop to do the installation if you decide to buy.

RE: supercharger?
Cant find anything about vast so maybe i made that up.
Honestly this forum is pretty small in comparison to some others **cough**AZ&AW**cough** and if you went to another and searched you would get a whoooole lot more information.
Autospeed was hoping to have dyno numbers this month for their 4.2 supercharger kit that they are testing. No news from APR, i think they found under hood, and intake temperatures were getting really high.
Keep in mind the B5 s4 has been out for 8 years, finally just now all the goodies are coming out (real GT kits, the new tial turbo kits, RS6's). At first tuning is very limited and expensive (MTM is a great solution but expensive for the b6/b7) There are at least a few tuners testing their own 4.2 supercharger kits right now and maybe there will be more ont he market byt he end of the year. At the moment its difficult though, google is your friend, if your serious search and start calling the tuners/companies that are making them. MTM is really the only one "ready to go" right now. www.hoppenmotorsport.com for the USA
http://www.pes-tuning.com/ also may be of interest, i dont know much though

RE: supercharger?
Thanks for all the info. Yeah, money really insnt a problem. Wish I could say that about myself, lol!
I thought APR was going to have it available as well, but I guess they dumped the whole project. I live in charlotte, and the car is in Florida right now. I can get the install done anywhere around charlotte or florida.
I am going to go talk to my local audi perfromance shop tonight. www.gmpperformance.com
They do all my TT work and seem to know what they are doing, however I have never purchased a 20k supercharger before so I want to be sure this is the right thing to do with this car.
Thank you all so much with the help. I will get back and let you know what the shop says either tonight or tomorrow. Thanks again.
