Hello, this is my first post on this forum and I’m sure someone here has a better idea then mine at what is causing a noise to come from the back of my S4 Avant 2011 model.

Basically I noticed what sounds like a popping noise (like popcorn) from under the boot, it sounded like one of my kids was kicking the foot well area. So I stopped the car and went looking.
The sound only happen every few seconds, it gets more frequent if I accelerate.
The sound is coming from directly under the right hand side of the spare tire in the boot of the car.
It’s loud enough to hear it when driving.

Any ideas, is this a comon fault.?
It also started after I had it washed, so I was thinking something to do with heat and water?

it’s due it’s first service in 40 days and is just coming up to a year old.

Did you check to see if the spare tire tool kit is knocking around?
