Hey folks, I'm new on the boards. I currently drive a 1995 Mitsubishi 3000GT base. And I just got a nice new job with lots more money to be made, so, It's time to step up the ride. I'm considering a '99 VR-4, because it was the last year the 3000GT was made, i've always loved that car. Also, a G35 coupe, but it seems like that's going to be out of my price range. Or a 2001-2002 S4. (did they make em in 2003?) I gues the bi-turbo 6cyl was called teh b5 S4? My uncle has a 2001 S4 in the dark red with suede interior and nav. Needless to say, i'd love to have his car. But, i don't htink i can, so I need some info on buying my own. I'm comfortable spending up to $30k. I think I'd rather have a b5 car. But i want to run low 13's RELIABLY. And still be able to dailey drive my car, and take it up to the snow for skiing. So, my question was, what are the staged upgrades for the b5 S4, what's the cost, and hp increase and 1/4 mi time increase. If anyone can post them or link me i'd really appreciate it. I know it's already a long post, but here's what i just thought of, because i'm not seeing anything about this ont he forums, can a boost controller be added? A manual or Electronic boost controller is pretty common on a VR-4 or a Supra etc. other TT cars... so how about the audi? seems to be an easy way to up the power.

 

You can buy a turbo duel k04 turbo kit for the car for around 5k bucks, and be above 400hp. Boost controllers aren't generally recommended in Audi's for whatever reason. If you want to find the hard core tuners, search around on the B5 S4 forum on Audiworld.com. If you buy an Audi, i'm sure you'll be happy with it.

 

i LOVE vr4 so sick. but i ehard the 98/99 vr4 sucked bc of there bad transmission. And good luck finding them. they will be mad expensive. make it a stage 3 its about $9 grand ish but somewhere around 400ish hosepower. go to google.com and type in audi s4 stage 4 and u will find it.
