speeding ticket...
anyone in here from the DC area of virginia? if you are, you know when you are going south on 95 and the two sides of 495 merge back into 95, i believe its referred to as the "melting pot", well regardless, I was coming off 495S onto 95S (where i found out last night the speed limit was 55). i had cruise control set at around 74mph because i was coming off a 65 zone, not thinking about it, i got into a clear lane, hit the resume button on my cruise and zipped the car to 74 again. i was coming up to some cars in my lane, so i accelerated a little bit to pass, well, one of the cars was an unmarked statie in a DAMN INTREPID??? WTF!?!?!? anyway, pulled me over and he said he "paced me" at 79, in a 55=reckless driving... court date early february...
I HATE VIRGINIA!!!! get me back do JAPAN where cops don't patrol for speeders, they set up cameras on the sides of the roads, if you get caught its a hefty fine but, there are books you can buy in english to learn where EVERY speed camera is on every highway in japan... or if you travel the roads enough, you learn where all the camera's are!!!
wish i had my S4 in Japan though, she definetly blows the doors off my R33 GTS25 Skyline!!!!

down in Naples FL where i moved from they just got a new fleet of undercover cop cars. Several Domestic SUV's and a Light Metallic Blue 2005 Convertible Mustang GT. yeah that's right, an '05 GT police car. fun eh? and that's ALL they do around there is give speeding tickets. just last month they had some crazy ticket craze for like a week and one day alone they gave out 807 traffic tickets. you hate cops there? heh

good lord, and i thought i had it bad... sorry to hear that... were you one of the 807? lol
well, in virginia its illegal to have a radar detector, i think i'm gonna get a hand held CB radio and use that like i did in all my previous cars... i just don't want to put the magnetic "*****" on my baby!!! so a handheld will have to do for now!

Yup, I know that stretch of the beltway well - the VA state troopers down there are vicious. If you thought the unmarked Intrepid was left field - one of my friends got pulled over in MD off the beltway by (get this) an undercover Toyota Camry with Florida plates(!!!). Apparently, crime in the DC area has been eradicated, so this is what they're reduced to doing.
Mass troopers are equally militant - they actually care about speeders which is big change from CT (where I live). The unmarked Mustangs, Corvettes and Camaros are usually easy to spot in MA, not because of the blacked out wheels, a smorgasbord of SHO-ME crap on the dash and a ton off antennas - but because few people, at least in the Boston area, drive crap like that.
In RI, which I frequent, state troopers use unmarked Chrysler Town and Countrys for speed enforcement, and I feel that that's just wrong.

Ughh, I HATE those, especially old farts in Mercury Grand Marquis - hard to tell when they're far away!
Personally, I'm at a point where I'm really hesitant to speed around ANY vehicles that have a bunch of antennas in odd places, especially pickup trucks and minivans.
