so today a kid from my town in a 04 sti asked me if i wana race....hes got full turbo xcess exhaust.... intake and the utec controller.... and my car has custom 3 inch down pipes no cats into an autospeed exhaust giacc XR chip, awe s-flo, 007 divereters....so i thought itd be pretty close cuz he runs bout a 12.6 but pulling from 2nd gear i got raped i never knew how fast those f'ing sti's are and im decent drive too but he beat me by like 2 car lenghts im pissed!

 

sorrry to say dude, but you didnt have a chance. Im full stage 3 and i prob wouldnt beat him, i still run upper 12's (although im sans upgraded intercoolers) youd need to be stage 2/2+ to run against a stock sti, those things are quick. But they take great to mods and boost their power up nicely.

yeah, pretty much. They run a 4.8 stock. theyre 300hp with much less weight. Basically a glorfied rally car. They are unreal from a dig.. id think from a roll youd have a better chance cause i dont think they have quite as good top end..

 

your making me wana get rid of my car lol.........i mean i hate how sti's feel there rough and bumpy which makes me wana throw up lol.....but still i cant believe how fast that **** is....grrr well i think my turbos are going soon im shooting out white smoke my car smells like burnt oil and they whistle like crazy lol...i think its time for ko4's

 

haha, yeah, id say that def sounds like the turbos are going.. the huge plumbs of white smoke is a good sign. do the k04's and some fueling and then give him a run.

As far as the sti.. yes, they are fast.. but they are what they are. fast. nothing else, the interiors blow, its a harsh ride, you have no luxuries... and you get much unwanted attention in terms of police as punk kids. I think its a great car that id want for a second car for the track, but not my daily driver. The s4 is such a great combo of both that you cant go wrong.

However a little side note, id actually say id go with a evo IX for my track car. I honestly have heard nothing but positive things about them. Supposedly they handle like they are on rails. And with teh new MIVEC system they are taking to mods like no other.. Not to mention youre running the 4g63 engine thats been around forever and tunability is crazy. Ive seen dyno plots of just a chip and exhaust putting down like 380 at the wheels... just crazy.

 

hell yeah my best friend just bought the 9MR...holy **** dude 10 times better then the sti interior is amazing and as far as speed goes that thing is ******* fast. I love everything about that car i drove it and i was really impressed i mean i usually hate evo's but the MR really blew me away.

 

From a dig I could see the STI winning. But I've seen 60 mph rolls with a Stage 3 and a GT35R STI run fairly close, no real winner. This surprises me.

 

an sti with those mods has close to 300whp, not to mention being about 400lbs less than your car. however, a GT35R STi should walk a KO4 S4, depending on boost levels/octane etc.
