S4 vs. CTS-V

ya its just the corvette motor. Personally i dont like big displacement engines that come from most american "performance" car companies. 6.3 or 7 L V8 making 400 HP or 4.0L BMW M3 v8 making 420. Im all about high reving, high power, tuned up engines. **** huge displacement and huge weight.

Yah, it never had a supercharger, but the new (2009) model does.

Aside from that, it still makes sense the CTS-V pulls on the S4. It weighs a few pounds less and has 60 more HP. Unless it's just totally geared like ****, I would expect it to be a little bit faster.

Usually the American Motors make substantially more torque than the Euro motors do NA. Torque becomes a bigger deal when it comes to heavier cars. Also the new CTS-V has a 6.2 Supercharged V-8 and it has been said have the fastest 4 door lap times on Nuremberg. its gonna be a ripper!

So the new CTSv is faster than the Audi RS6? Doubtfull. How about the new 700HP mtm chipped Rs6, again VERY doubtfull. Even if you argue that its an avant, they have had sedan test muels and will hopefully sell em in the USA.
Ya they make more tq because they have a larger displacement, larger cylinder/piston diameter, and can combust more fuel at one time. Iv driven a C5 Z06 ***** to the wall (same 405HP v8 i believe, unless the caddy uses the c6 400HP base motor) and yeah its great fun but BMW's 500HP V10 is still a smaller displacement by over a liter and probably weighs less while producing more power. American cars do it the easy way, more power? 7 liters then!
Small displacement, lots of cylinders, High Reving, High Horsepower euros FTW. I hate to use BMW as my example but their v10 is top notch and the new v8 is amazing, i also commend their return to forced induction on a v6 AND v8. Audis RS4 V8 is just as good IMO, and audi is developing a high reving V10 for the new R8 and hopefully more cars. Lets not forget that because audi is a parent company of lamborghini they have access to the the LP560 and LP640 motors...

back to OP, Clarkson was sideways most the time(in his usual manner), so of course the Stig could not pass....
Second, it was a b7 stock s4. i will gladly put a stage 3 against it anyday, and still have an extra 40 grand to go play with....
