i agree with meatbiscuit...I've probably put close to 30 grand in upgrades and maintanance just get around 320awhp and if I could do it over again...the B5 S4 would have been my first choice!!

 

QFT buddy. The S4 is just better, and remember theres no replacement for displacement.

That S4 seems pretty cheap though make sure to get it checked out by an independent mechanic before you buy so you know what your getting your self into. In addition you have a costly major service coming up for the timing belt and all the other goodies you need to do while your in there. Also beware that while your in there you might find some more lousy stuff like blown motor mounts. Be prepared to spend money taking care of your car.

Also if the S4 is a tip, skip on it just go find a 6MT. Haha

 

Go with the S4. It has so much more potential if you are planning to tune it, but it will cost more to run and maintain.

 

S4. I have both a 2001 A4 and a 2000 S4 and I have plans to sell the A4 and buy another S4 soon. No point in buying the A4 and regretting it. It is worth the extra cash.

 

Go for the S4! Its worth the extra dough!
