Default S4, time for a new clutch??

Hi all,

I have been lurking around this board for a while and finally decided to start contributing to the conversations. There are some great knowledgable folks here and I hope to learn and offer what advice I can.

On that note, I have an '01 S4, chipped compliments of MTM as well as an MTM Spring kit that stiffened my suspension a bit and gives the car a sportier profile.

It has 95,000 miles and is probably due for a clutch soon. My question to you all is, what kinds of sympotoms do you typically see on this car when the clutch is ready to be replaced? My last car was 36 years old, so I'm a little new to the amount of technology and engineering that goes into these vehicles. The fact that it's self-adjusting throws me off a bit, since in my last vehicle, it was pretty apparent when the clutch needed to be repalced due to its lack of responsiveness and occasional slippage under a load. It was also feasible to replace that clutch on my own, however, I doubt I'll dive into that can of worms on this vehicle, its a little too complex for me which means I'll have to fork out the (~$1200??) cash to have it replaced.

Also, I looked around the board and couldn't find any details on the RS4 clutch kit. If I need to replace the clucth, I want to have the RS4 clutch/flywheel kit put in. Is it a drop in replacement, how is the cost, is there additional labor? Any help is appreciated, thanks!
