Default S4 Runs 10.67 @ 132.73. Stock Motor, Pump Gas, Bolt Ons, 21psi!

Well after a two year hiatus, I finally took my blue sled back to da track. Changes to the car this go around include swapping the AWE intercoolers for the infamous Ebay FMIC and replacing the AWE fueling kit with my own fueling and tune. This freed up more cash and brought the total cost of all mods including the cost of the car itself to below $10,000. I also added the N2MB WOT box with 2 step rev limiter.

When I first got to the track, the car was misfiring like a **** in 3rd and 4th so I had to change the plugs. After swapping in a fresh set of $1 a piece copper spark plugs, I was good to go. My first run with the new plugs was a 10.67 @ 132.73. Of course my luck I was the first car to run in the left lane after some Chebby puked oil all over the track so this would explain why I spun through all of 1st and only pulled a 1.697 60ft.

After the 10.6, I was warned by the owner of the track that I had to slow it down or I'd get tossed. NHRA rules require a roll cage, harness, fire extinguisher, etc. for anything quicker than 11.50. So on my 2nd pass, I let off somewhere in between the 1/8th and 1000ft and the car still ran 11.0 @ 121. What sucks is looking at the timeslip, my 60', 330' and 1/8 mile were all considerably quicker than they were on my 10.6 pass. The car was more than a full tenth quicker at the 60ft and 330' than it was on the 10.6 pass! So after crunching the numbers, I believe it would have been a high 10.5X had I not let off. I still don't think it would have beat Dom's 10.53, but it would have been close. I'd like to point out that my car never pulled low to mid 1.5 60fts until I added the N2MB WOT box. I have it set to 4400 RPMs and that seems to be working pretty good, but I need a few more runs to try out other RPMs to see if I can get the 60fts down even more.

Just to recap for those folks who don't know, this is a 2000 Audi S4 with a bone stock 2.7T engine. Stock heads, stock cams, stock pistons and rods, stock exhaust manifolds, stock electronics, stock ignition, stock (decatted) downpipes, etc. The ONLY aftermarket engine related/power adding mods that it has are the 60lb injectors, 85mm MAF, AEM filter, and Ebay FMIC. Everything else is either factory original or OEM RS4. Fuel being used is E85 which is available at the pump only 6 miles away from my house. Boost spikes to 25-26psi and is holding only 21psi at redline.

Yes, this car has a fully gutted out interior. The car, however is still all steel, except for the trunk lid and hood which are CF. It also retains full factory glass.

I was expecting trap speeds in the 134-135 range with my fueling and tune. This is because the car ran 132-133 two years ago with the AWE kit and according to the logs, it's a solid 1-2 tenths quicker when looking at different acceleration ranges. So I was a little disappointed that it's still only trapping 133. I have to look into this more because it's definitely considerably faster when logging 3rd gear pulls.

The S4 averaged 31 MPG on the 185 mile round trip to and from the track which ain't too bad for a mid 10 second car! Despite all the weight reduction, the car is still easy to drive and extremely smooth! The plan from here is to run 10.5 in the 1/4 and then go with either RS6 turbos or Tial S605s. Haven't decided which to go with yet, but I'm definitely sticking with the stock motor for now.

Here are the two timeslips:

lol.. when they are worth a ****..

1) i need a good tranny. my syncros are trashed. you can even see in the videos i left links to that they are killing me...eh.. about a month and a half till thats resolved... i mean i couldnt even get solid estimates about how well ill run till i get a good tranny. my **** is so bad right now that i ran better times with 300 extra lbs in the front seat (my buddy in the passenger) than i did solo.
2) even when i get a tranny, ill never touch these times. weight reduction is amazing, and im not going to do any besides removing my subs and my spare. i run with a/c , full leather interior, heated seats....orange warning reflector in the trunk.....
3) my tune hasnt been fully dialed in.. and it will be soon.. but.. ehhh... its time consuming and it seems like here lately getting everything together is just a hassle.. lol.. i mean.. i just put in a bigger fuel pump.. methanol kit will be here in a few days.. then i have to data log and we are going to fine tune this thing.. and even then.. even then..
4) THIS IS AN EFING 10 SECOND CAR!!! hell id **** the bed if i got lower than an 11.5.... lol..

What do you have to do to run E85 fuel? Can you switch back to normal gas?
