s4 bad turbo lookin for advice
i just recently bought my 2000 s4 i just made a post recently about it because i thought i was having turbo troubles.... well took it to my mechanic and its the passenger side turbo. Now with that being said i noticed alot of people had problems with their passenger side turbos going out so... i was wondering if a viable option was to JUST replace the k03 or if its cheaper to buy maybe re manufactured k03s or k04s and replace both? i'm real short on money i know the smart way is to replace both.. but i'm looking for a cost efficient way of getting this on the road again but not screwing myself in the long run. I also noticed i've seen companys rebuild k03s and sell them but not many k04s looking to pay 1,500 or less.
thanks in advanced guys i know im long winded
just lookin for some advice kinda a big decision for me
hurtin on money :/

If you can afford some downtime with your car, I would say rebuild them if you're on a budget.
If you're interested I've got a spare set of K03's with about 65,000 on them, stock boost their whole lives. Could even rebuild those.

Cheapest would be to rebuild/buy a set of K03s, but keep in mind labor is the most costly factor. When you're already paying a few grand for the labor, it would definitely be smart to consider spending the extra few hundred clams on the K04s. Even if you financed the additional cost (which I normally wouldn't condone doing), it would probably be smarter especially when you consider how much more the resale value will be with a set of K04s. Even full stage 3 when you get the money later.
