Anyone heard of any forced induction devices for the B6 S4 V8 engine>?

Or any other substantial horsepower gaining products?

Yea APR makes a chip the gives about 20 HP.

 

Rumor round the campfire is that APR will soon have a SC kit for about 5K.

there was a big 'shoot out' of tuner parts recently and it's rumored that a car with APR's SC was there.

ya heard of a supercharger thats goin to be wicked expensive

 

My plan was to keep my car bone stock....but I have to say the thought of a supercharger is making me reconsider!

 

Anyone know if the super charger will fit on an '02 S6 Avant?

Or, anyone know if there are any real good mods for the S6 Avant?

 

This is all very enticing, especially if that 5k figure is real, who could resist?
Interesting is if you punch in --- S4 supercharger ASA--- on google it brings up this supercharger that ASA developed for the V8 4.2
At some auto show, but they said after I contacted them that it would perhaps be released late 2005..

BUt anyways I have an issue I hope any other V8 S4 owners can help me with..
I drive the car quite hard sometimes, and take it up the crest maybe 2, 3 times a week ...
A while ago the car started making this tat tat tat tat noise with the idle, it was a sound that would be completely normal on a old diesel benz..

Rusnak told me check oil, and so I did, and it was low so i filled it and the noise went away..
But then now after driving it hard, going up to the 7000 shift a lot in 1s 2nd and 3rd... the noise comes back
and I check the oil and its in the optimal area...
but the noise wont cease!
Im gonna try and take it in, but I was hoping someone knew what this was, because Rusnak techs havent heard of it, or say they are not familiar with any such prob on the 4.2 engine.
I will appreciate any replies thanks so much if anyone reads this long thing.

 

instead of just adding oil, try changing it, flush out the old, pour in the new.

 

Jenny- are you in so cal....is that angeles crest? That is one of my all time favorite roads....

Anyway, what year is your s4? I've got an 04, nothing like that noise to report from my car. If yours is new is it possible that the valves need adjustment after the breakin period?

 

I have one thing to recommend.

Don't use Rusnak or Keyes for Service.

They are brutal !!!!
They don't listen to you.
They don't care about you.
They don't give a rats *** !!!!

If you really want excellent service, drive it down to Pacific Audi in Torrance.

I have an open file with AoA regarding my treatment, the cars service and performance and other stuff when using Keyes Service.
The service and treatment at Rusnak isn't any better.

Does the sound, sound metal ?

Like a chain ?
