Not on a 911, but on a 4.2 Audi.
I'm thinking that since that engine is detuned to run at 340hp, that it could take the rear twin turbo set up without having to worry much about other engine internals. I could be wrong on that though. That's why I want someone to give it a try.

only problem is pipping that crap back to the front..... and lag would be horrible probably
either way, bragging rights!

sook said it, taking a NA engihne and force inducting it isnt the best thing to do. The only good way to do that is by changing the compression, then you might have something that will last longer, but now youre talking bucko dough. Of course there are plenty companies that will make you a turbo or SC to slap on there, just dont pplan on a long relationship with that car.

isn't the b6 4.2 the same motor as the rs6?

The 4.2 in the B6 has the cam chain and tensioners at the back of the motor: where the gearbox meets the motor. Whereas the prevoius 4.2 in the S6& RS6 had all the chains at the front of the engine.
Audi redisgned the 4.2 for the S4 so it fits in the bay. Plus it has higher compression and revs a lot harder than the 4.2's before it.
So if u were to turbo the 4.2 in the S4, it wouldnt even take a very low boost setup coz of the high comp[:'(]

You should look for a tuner that has done a Turbo on the 4.2, if any have. You would have to lower the compression with shorter rods, or different pistons; maybe new heads as well. If you know a good tuner shop, they would probably be able to tell you if the RS6 gear can be swapped into the S4 block or not.
There is the whole moving of the timing chains to the back of the block, and I heard that the whole reason they went NA was due to limited room in the engine compartment; so headers could be a whole nother headache... but where there's $$ there's a way.

Width wise mite be ok but that still ???
It u wont the turbo turque put the 2.7T in, do the RS4 internals + chip/DPs etc and u will def have a hawt car
