I've always wanted an 87 GN. My wife wants me to get her an 01-02 SS 6-speed also...go figure. We have a B5 tiptronic S4. It's a fun car but the gas mileage sucks in it. Mine is stock for now. I guess it doesn't suck as bad as a Tahoe, but compared to her Z24 it is horrible.

Still I love Audi and have been an Audi enthusiast since I was a teenager. I want to get an 07 RS4 when I re-enlist if I get a bonus. That will be in about 5 more years so they should be in the $30k range by then.

He is not talking about a BMW M6... In the LS1 world, you refer to your car as an A4 or M6 depending if you have the 4 speed automatic overdrive (4L60E) transmission or the Tremec T-56 6-speed manual trans. He meant M6 as in 6-speed manual S4.

Soon will be an S4 owner, found an 01.5 S4 6speed for only 10G's could not pass it up, w/ 79,000miles, timming belt and water pump done at 76,000miles. After I make sure stock parts are in good working order, would like to go Stage 1, Intake, Giac, DV's, and exhaust. What exhaust do you recommend, I live in Florida no cats necessary? I have run my o1 SS w/ Off road Y for 4 years, no Problem. I have done search but which one flows/sounds the best. I know stock clutch will probably go after mods.
Thanks

Great deal... that's a steal if everything is running well!!
Those are some good mods to do right away. imo just cut a hole in your airbox (Darintake). Exhaust can be found on youtube.. i have Borla and I love it.. some like AWE twin 1, apr, asp, etcetc.. fast intensions (labree)make a great setup. def try to get dp's too.
what color??

It's Silver w/ black interior. Icalled local shop today recommended Twin 2's, since my wife will be driving it too, w/ 3" DP's no cats. Will first do Darintake - will K&N drop In filter be fine with 01.5 S4? Looks like exhaust will run me close to $1500.00 w/ DP's. How hard are the DP's to get out, I know the cat back is easy. He wants $340.00 to install, not bad since it would probably take me all weekend.

I'm a noob to the forums... I was interested in this thread to see what everyone's response was.

Does anyone know if the performance folks will be doing more work for the 4.2's? I'm definitely looking to get an S4, but I'm curious as to which one to get. I like the V8... I had a Hemi Ram that I liked tweaking... but I also like having a much more open platform like the 2.7T. The Hemi I had was the 03, so there were limited tuning options (due to a 16 bit PCM) that the later models were able to enjoy. I don't want to get into that boat again.

Thanks for any feeback...

I answered your post titled "Calling all B6 owners", but figured since you mentioned tunability here...
Tuning the B6 isn't a lost cause. If you were to grab a fullback exhaust, intake, and Giac or Revo program, you're looking atabout 300HP TO THE WHEELS. Not a bad deal, especially considering there's always suspension and brake mods available as well-best of luck!
