Removing the maf

Removing the maf
How would someone go about removing the maf on a 2001.5 s4? I am curious because i know of a computer called a maf translator (see www.maftpro.com) that can translate information to the ecu and make it apear to have a maf while the translator reads a wideband to know if the a/f ration is rich or lean to calculate if it needs to tell the ecu there is more air going in or less air going in. Or something like that. But anyway the main reason i want to run with just a map is so that you can place filters on the turbos themselvs and not have to worry about a maf. Or maybe run two mafs? One on each turbo? Anyway just doing some research for bigger projects and plans i have in the future.

RE: Removing the maf
I had a translator in my VR4. It made it possible for me to run a large 3" GM MAFS and instead of having it "suck through" it was now "blow through" wich made it possible for dual intakes/filters. Its only something to worry about when you have done everything to possible and you are just trying to squeeze out some extra power.

RE: Removing the maf
Find out how the S4 works first! You can run it with out any MAF's stock. Setting up 2 would be very hard, the stock airbox is plenty until you put in bigger turbo's.
So in the end, you would spend a ton of $$ & time & get NO PERFORMANCE benefit from it.

How do you run it without a MAFS stock? My accordian hose came off of the MAFS just a tiny bit and the car wont run at all...
