Default Pulling the trigger on a 2012 Audi S4

Hi guys,
I have been on this Forum for a few months now, reading and lurking around, gathering information. I was sure I wanted to buy a new A6 and even started to pursue the purchase. That was until I test drove a 2011 S4 and fell in love with the car. Tomorrow I am putting down my deposit on a 2012 and the car will be delivered in October. MSRP is $55,500 and we settled on 53,000 what do you guys think ?

The tranny is a 7 speed, probably just a typo! It is a little hard to price compare b/c of the different options. I used autotrader.com to get a general idea. I ended up finding a 2010 Premium Plus with 10K mi and some upgrades for about $47K, haven't even had it 24 hours yet! Most of the new ones I looked at online were around $50K to $56K. If you get the 2012, enjoy!

I did get the 2012, but now I have to wait on the delivery! I think I got a pretty good deal, I can't wait for it to get here.

Default Same thing

I'm the same as the original poster - thought I wanted the 2012 A6 so I did a test drive and thought it was really nice. Then I drove an S5 and thought "wow" - completely different car. I've since decided that an S4 is probably the best fit for me, and I hope to order a 2013 S4 early or mid-next year.

Have you received your car yet? Can't wait to hear about your first days.

Pepsiguy - it sounds real nice. Love the color combo but I prefer MT6 (if available). What's the point of having a sports touring car if you cannot really shift it? I don't blame you for choosing an S4 over the A6. I'd prefer the smaller car and would have considered one if I did not have 3 teenagers at the time.

Thought I would do an update, a lot has happened since I started this thread . . . . . oh where to start. Dealership contacted me a few weeks ago to basically let me know the car I had chosen was no longer available. They had made a mistake and the car was actually ordered by someone and they didn't know it. I was pretty pissed at first, but then I settled down pretty fast. this was a car they had pulled up off their inventory, not a special order, so it really wasn't perfect, didnt have everything i wanted, but I was back to square one. I still want the S4, I think it is a great "little" car, coming from a 2006 Acura RL w/ Aspec. Today my wife and I went down to the dealership and ordered the car the way I wanted it and I changed my mind on the color. For some reason the white grew on me, it is the color I actually test drove and I really like it. Easy to keep clean and it looks nice on the car, so here is what I got, what do you guys think ?

Audi S4 3.0 Sedan 4Dr Auto S Tronic Quattro
Ibis White
Black Leather/ Alcantara

Premium Plus
Audi MMI Navigation
Sports Rear Differential
Bang & Olfusen
Audi Advanced Key
19" 5 Spoke Wheel Package
Rear Acoustic Parking Sensors
Carbon Atas Inlays

I do not disagree with you, a manual is a lot of fun, but I had to get an automatic and here is why. I want my wife to be able to drive it really needed and she can't drive a stick and refuses to learn. So I really only had one option and that was the automatic. Plus I live in the greater Seattle area and traffic here sucks most of the time and when it does, you are glad to not have to shift every ten seconds.

Something else worth mentioning, since I was going to walk ( well not really ) they sold me the car at $500 over invoice. I thought that was a pretty good deal, since the S4 is in very high demand, especially around here.
