A friend of mine has a '95 civic with an engine swap to a Jap B-16 with light mods and it's a 5 speed.

The 5 speed thing is important to note because his reverse is right where 6th is supposed to be, just like 6th on my car.

Nothin' like trying to get into reverse at 80 mph!

just tap the gas with the right side of your foot, while the left side is on the brake, works gr8 for mee, and i dont have to twist my leg like a contortionist to get it to work,

practice is a huge thing, u'll get better in a couple of weeks

good luck

I've been getting pretty good at heel-toe, I practice when I am coming to a lonely stopsign just so I can stay safe if I slip off the pedal. I can only do it in one of my pairs of shoes though... I was kinda bummed today at school when I realized I didn't have my 'heel-toe' shoes and I couldn't practice.

No- actually quite the opposite - If done correctly, you wont notice any type of hesitation or stall, it'll just engage and be in gear...
The link at the beginning of the thread is a good resource for transmissions, shift techniques... etc.

Man - I totally agree - when I wear my "after work / casual" shoes, I have so much more control / feel - it makes a big
difference.

all s4s and a4s also have bad driveline shock and u can get a snub mount and that will hlep alot. I have to say that just drive it and like spanker said ride the clutch a little when letting it out. Also dont do the downshift liek ppl were saying. Do the neutral and use ur breaks. Downshifting actually uses more gas than just using ur brakes. I sometimes put the car in neutral use the brakes on big hills too.

I feel the the driveline thud a lil bit too much. I think I'm going to have new engine mounts and a snub moubt put in. Anybody know how much that would run me???
