Pics of new rims and other work on my B7 S4
Okay, so I finally got my car back with all the work completed:
ASA ZR2 rims, black matt (too heavy, but read that post too late :-) ) - 19 x 8.5
245/35/19 Bridgestone tires
Bilstein PSS9 suspension: lowered about .5" in the rear and 1.5" in front
Milltek DPs and cat-back, resonated
Milltek intake
Revo ECU software with switcher (lets you revert to stock software to preserve warranty)
Neuspeed swaybar (installed earlier)
Window tinting @ 20%
Before I post the pics, my review of the upgrades:
The sound of the Milltek exhaust is awesome. Great tone and growl, and at high RPMs it really sounds nice. I can't say where the power gains are coming from since I had all of this done at once, but there is a noticable difference on the low end and accelleration is definitely improved. However, for all the money I spent, it's not the rocket I was hoping for. Many many posts here talking about how naturally aspirated engines can't be improved all that much, and I'd have to concur. However, I would do it again for the gains I did get.
In terms of the suspension, I haven't pushed it all that hard yet but there is a definite improvement in cornering. The initial "dip" into turns is gone and there is virtually no lean. To my pleasant surprise, the overall ride isn't that different.I drove about 30 miles on the freeway and hardly noticed a difference. Granted, it was a pretty hard ride before, while stock.
