Default Painting wheels

So i decided instead of saving up for rims id save the money for performance upgrades, so now i decided im gunna paint the rims like in the diy section, but i was just curious if you guys might have pics of someone who painted the stock 01 s4 rims a different color than black, like maybe a dark gray, or like a coper color, for some reason in my mind it seems like it would look beter ?

+1 on a color other than black. IMHO, unless you drive a Ferrari Enzo FXX, a Pagani Zonda, a Porsche Carrera GT, or Mercedes Benz Mclaren SLR 722 GT, black rims (especially painted OEM ones) on standard sedans are too boy-racer. But thats just me.

The reason stock black wheels sometimes look like **** is that they are completely flat and have no lip. The black wheels just blend into the black rubber and wheel wells. If you have a black car it only makes it worse.

If you have Laser Red, Silver, or Imola it can look good though. ESP if you do this and add a color matched lip:

And keep in mind this only applies to stock wheels being painted. I love aftermarket black wheels, 90% of the time they need to have a lip though...

im actually in the process of doing that. I think im gonna paint them hyper silver. Instead of buying rs4 replicas im just gonna repaint them a darker grey or more of a hyper silver type color. Im not a big fan of chrome so im staying away from that.
