oil leaking
hey guys i have a small oil leak from the rear of the passenger side cylinder head from what appears to be the cam tensioner cover ive replaced the valve cover gaskets on both sides hoping that would fix it how difficult is it to get that cover off to reseal it it looks like it is also a cam bearing or endcap of some sort it is not the exhast cam seal that is leaking its on the intake side if that helps
its a 2000 s4

you. need. periods.
cam tensioner cover?? i'm guessing you mean the cover which protects the timing belt and cam gear. how much oil is seeping out, does it drip? usually around the cam seals you should have squeezed on some silicone sealant (forget the name, i think mendebylium (spl?) disulfide) when replacing the valve cover gasket, you can pick it up an auto zone

yep... common leak from the cam tensioner gasket, between cyl head and tensioner assy.... there is a pretty easy way to fix/ replace the gasket without completely disassembeling a whole lot.... you will need a cam chain tensioner and new metal gasket
... i'm sure there's some help on the forums if you search.... " cam chain tensioner gasket/seal"
whole job should take just a few hours... the tool is not too expensive.. i may even still have one lying around.... i can let you borrow it if you promise to ups it back to me.
